    Director of Philippines Operations Kazuki Sakamoto Master of Development Studies

    Graduated from the University of Tokyo and began a career in marketing at Procter & Gamble, working in Japan and Singapore. Earned a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex. Subsequently served at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Tokyo Office, JICA Indonesia Office, and as the Singapore Office Representative of an agritech startup. Has extensive expertise in Southeast Asia with three expatriate assignments. In the previous role, was involved in launching voluntary carbon credit and JCM carbon credit projects in the agricultural sector. Joined Faeger in 2025 and currently oversees international operations, primarily focusing on projects in the Philippines. Holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies.

    Graduated from Sophia University and began a career in supply chain management at Olympus Corporation. For over 10 years, engaged in projects supporting agriculture, financial inclusion, SMEs, and startups in developing countries. Has managed projects across approximately 10 countries in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Experienced in policy dialogue with ministries such as Agriculture and Economy in developing countries, building consensus at both central and local government levels. Joined Faeger in 2025 and is currently leading international operations, primarily focusing on projects in the Philippines.

    Southeast Asia Business Daiki Tajima Master of International Business

    After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo, Daiki began his career at MUFG Bank and later worked at a local accounting firm in India. He earned his Master’s degree in International Business from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. He then joined the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), where he worked in the Private Sector Partnership Division and the Overseas Investment Division, followed by a role as Budget Officer at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). At WFP’s Regional Bureaux in Eastern Africa (Kenya) and Asia and the Pacific (Thailand), he managed budgets and resources for projects supporting smallholder farmers and addressing climate change across the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, and other countries. Inspired by Faeger’s mission to strengthen food security and support farmers, Daiki joined the team in November 2025. Based in Thailand, he leads the planning and implementation of carbon credit projects across Southeast Asia.

    CEO Office Yumeko Iino

    After spending her teenage years in New Zealand, Yumeko began her career at the Imperial Hotel and The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, where she was consistently engaged in high-level guest relations—including VIP and state guest services—and staff development. She then joined a major global pharmaceutical company as an executive assistant, supporting senior management while also working across a broad range of areas such as healthcare system and reimbursement research, market access–related marketing planning, cross-functional collaboration, and corporate training. Most recently, she served as Executive Assistant to the Executive Officers at a rapidly growing startup, contributing to executive operations and business execution. Yumeko joined Faeger in 2025, where she supports the CEO and plays a key role in management and business operations for the company’s Philippines initiatives.

    Graduated from Waseda University (Bachelor) and Sciences Po Paris (Master's). After working for a Japanese tech. company as Supply Chain Specialist, Takuro worked for a decade in international development field in Francophone Africa as a government aid agencies Expert and UN specialized agencies staff (IFAD).

    Joined FAEGER in Feb. 2026 and is in charge of the portfolio of ASEAN countries, especially the Philippines.

    Phillipines Business Mana Abe

    Graduated from Asia University. While stationed in the Philippines for nine years, she worked at an international cooperation NGO as a project manager for initiatives in collaboration with JICA and the Japanese Embassy, leading the operation of multinational organizations and the development of institutional frameworks.
    She later served as Head of Back Office at a Japan–Philippines IT company, overseeing HR, labor management, and organizational development, and contributing broadly to the company’s Philippine operations from field support to corporate management.

    Joined FAEGER in March 2026 and is responsible for the Philippines business.
    Currently serves as a Board Member of an international cooperation NGO in the Philippines.

    Southeast Asia Business Miki Kuwabara Master of Public Health

    After completing a Master of Public Health, joined Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), where responsibilities included research support at the JICA Ogata Research Institute, as well as budget management, public relations, and general administration across the Health, Education, and Social Protection divisions within the Human Development Department.

    Since September 2024, joined Faeger as part of the R&D team, supporting the launch of projects in the Philippines and handling subsidy-related operations for new business initiatives in Japan.
    From April 2025, involved in supporting J-Credit applications for FY2025 under Japan’s government-certified carbon credit scheme, based on mid-season drainage extension in rice cultivation to reduce methane emissions.
    From 2026 onward, responsible for leading Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) processes under the JCM-AWD methodology in the Philippines, while supporting the launch of projects in Indonesia.

    R&D Division Shizuka Funayama Master of African Studies

    Ms. Funayama holds a Master’s degree in African Studies from the University of Oxford. Before joining Faeger in 2025, she worked with a Japanese NGO specializing in humanitarian assistance, managing projects funded by governments and the United Nations. She later contributed to sustainability-related services as an executive officer at a startup, focusing on GHG emissions visualization. At Faeger, she serves as R&D Team Manager, overseeing domestic and international projects led by the R&D team.

    General Director - Faeger Vietnam Seiya Yoshida

    After completing a Master’s degree in Agriculture and Life Sciences, joined an agricultural corporation operating plant factories producing functional vegetables, engaging in production management at two domestic sites. Since 2021, served as Country Project Manager for an NGO implementing international cooperation projects, residing in the Philippines for three and a half years. Oversaw projects promoting agricultural techniques utilizing organic materials and improving vegetable distribution. Also involved in the construction and operation of agricultural infrastructure facilities, including refrigerated warehouses used in cold chain logistics.

    Joined Faeger in June 2025 as Representative of the Vietnam subsidiary, leading the generation of carbon credits under the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM).

    Rachelle Martin Master of Engineering

    Rachelle Marie Martin is a licensed Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer and has earned her Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST). She began her career as technical staff at the Department of Agriculture–Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PhilMech), then moved to the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples–Cordillera Administrative Region (NCIP-CAR), the DA–Philippine Rice Research Institute (DA-PhilRice) for 12.5 years as a Science Research Specialist before joining Faeger on During her career, she was involved in research implementation, nationwide promotion and scaling of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), stakeholder training, and sustainable rice production initiatives, among other activities.

    Joined in July 2025. As Technical Project Coordinator, she is engaged in leading the Faeger–Yanmar initiative under the Philippines–Japan Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), focusing on the implementation and scaling of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) technology in rice paddies in Zambales and Bataan. She oversees project design, field monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with partners to support methane emission reduction and carbon credit generation for farmers.

    Leo Diaz

    Leo holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering degree and is a licensed Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer. Before joining Faeger, Leo served as GHG Team Lead and Research Specialist at Ostrom Climate Solutions wherein he was responsible of all GHG quantification activities under the Climate-Smart Rice Project in the Philippines. He also gained valuable experience in the Research and Development Sector of the Philippine Rice Research Institute. As a researcher, he focused on developing sustainable ice straw management practices adn innovative technologies for food, feed, and bioenergy in the country. He also contributed to innitiatives that strengthened the capacilty of Local Government Units to address rice yield gaps in Central Luzon, while actively engaged in rice extension and training programs aimed at enhacing productivity and farmer incomes.

    Leo currently serves as Project Coordinator for Faeger Philippine Business where he spearheads initiatives to empower Filipino rice farmers, fostering sustainable farming communities and promoting climate resilience.

    Isagani Perez Pineda

    Isagani P. Pineda earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Extension Education from Central Luzon State University and is a licensed professional agriculturist. Driven by his passion for farming, he has devoted his career to sustainable agriculture and rural development. He worked as a Science Research Specialist at PhilRice, where he advanced cost-efficient rice production technologies and promoted water-saving practices such as Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), significantly improving rice cultivation methods. Isagani also contributed to international development through the FAO Disaster Risk Reduction in Agriculture Project, supporting farming communities in vulnerable regions of the Philippines to strengthen resilience against climate risks and natural disasters.

    In November 2025, he joined Faeger as Technical Project Coordinator in the Philippines for the Joint Crediting Mechanism – Alternate Wetting and Drying (JCM–AWD) Project, an initiative promoting climate-smart rice production to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He leads capacity-building programs for farmers and farmer groups, delivering training that supports the adoption of AWD technology. Through this role, he advances water-use efficiency in rice cultivation while contributing to both national and international climate mitigation goals.

    Erick Supan

    Erick T. Supan earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Crop Science from Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) and is a licensed Agriculturist. After graduating, he served as Project Staff under the Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (DA–ACEF) Project at PSAU, where he was engaged in farmer training, field data collection, technology demonstration, and extension activities promoting sustainable and organic farming practices. His work focused on advancing sustainable agriculture programs, supporting research implementation, and facilitating technology adoption among farming communities.

    Joined Faeger in November 2025 as Project Officer. In this role, he supports the implementation of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) technology under climate-smart rice initiatives in Pampanga, particularly within the Pampanga Delta River Irrigation System (PDRIS) and Porac Gumain River Irrigation System (PGRIS). His responsibilities include coordinating with Irrigators’ Associations and project stakeholders, conducting farmer training programs, supervising field monitoring and data collection, training field monitors, and supporting project coordination activities aimed at improving water-use efficiency and contributing to methane emission reduction in rice production.

    Jan Anthony Santos

    Jan Anthony G. Santos is a licensed agriculturist who earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Major in Crop Science from Bataan Peninsula State University. He also holds a National Certificate II in Crop Production and Agroentrepreneurship, demonstrating his technical competency in crop production and agricultural enterprise. During his academic training, he completed his internship at a Municipal Agriculture Office, where he served as an extension worker and gained practical experience in agricultural extension and farmer support services. His academic background and training reflect his foundation in crop science, sustainable agriculture, and community-based agricultural development.

    Joined Faeger in January 2026 as a Project Officer in Bataan, managing the Colo-Layac-Balsik Irrigation System (CLBRIS) and Tangilad SRIS. Focuses on implementing Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) for climate-smart rice farming, working closely with farmers and local stakeholders, leading trainings, guiding field monitors, and collecting data to improve water use and reduce methane emissions.
