FPT and Faeger Sign MOU on Promoting Decarbonized Agriculture in Vietnam
Faeger Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takahiro Ishizaki) and FPT Information System signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on December 1, 2023, regarding the promotion of green agriculture through carbon credits in Vietnam. Faeger will collaborate to provide advice and implement technology in the agriculture sector, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam and accelerate green transformation.
This project aims to accelerate the application of technology in the agricultural sector with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam. At the same time, it seeks to enhance the efficiency of utilizing Japanese investment capital in green transformation projects, ensuring sustainability in the sector.
In this collaboration, FPT will act as the creative unit, expanding the green transformation ecosystem within Vietnam's agricultural and forestry sectors. FPT will also play a role in connecting organizations, companies, and local farming communities in Vietnam. From advising on technological solutions to optimize management, reduce emissions, and improve efficiency in agricultural and forestry production, FPT provides comprehensive services.
FPT has committed to promoting technology to realize green transformation in Vietnam. They have started investing in resources and research to provide technical solutions for the government and organizations to achieve net-zero goals. Recently, FPT successfully completed a consulting project on emissions statistics for the transportation sector (for sea and road routes), which involved building an effective data application model to optimize energy production activities.
Faeger is committed to connecting Vietnamese organizations and companies with sponsor sources under the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) to secure funding for accelerating green transformation and executing projects. At the same time, we will share planning methods for effectively utilizing Japanese investment funds in agricultural projects.
Both parties are demonstrating efforts to expand green transformation projects between Vietnam and Japan, following previous low-carbon initiatives between the two governments. This initiative is expected to promote a circular economy capable of withstanding climate change, reducing carbon emissions, and achieving sustainable development.
